Abraham Gasparyan: Nationally-oriented people are obliged to put the brakes on this process that is driving our statehood to its end
Genesis Armenia Think Tank and Foundation and the Hayakve initiative, which announced their decision to join the Holy March from the beginning of the movement, will meet the participants of the protest march, led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, at the northern gates of Yerevan.
“We will join them and move together to Republic Square, where the rally will be staged at 4:00 p.m. on May 9,” Abraham Gasparyan said.
According to Gasparyan, in the past 15-20 days, a spark of struggle kindled in Voskepar, spreading to Kirants, Tavush and Kotayk, and will reach Yerevan tomorrow.
“We, as nationally-oriented people, are obliged to put the brakes on this process that is driving our statehood to its end. So, I am calling on all my friends, relatives, who for months on end, day and night—through writings, meetings, letters, on the street, during all conferences, on all occasions—were asking to rise up. We have risen up, we have walked, we have come, we have reached Yerevan on a Holy March; and in Yerevan we are obliged to show our strength, the strength of Armenians, the strength of unity for the sake of the Homeland and national dignity, for the sake of Armenia. We must arrange our activities in such a way that all of this will be crowned with the desired success, to stop the destructive political line, to increase the security level of Armenia and the Armenian people, as well as to have peace in a dignified country, which will be acceptable to all Armenians. Thus, we are waiting for you with Avetik Chalabyan tomorrow, at 11:00 a.m., at the northern gates of Yerevan,” Gasparyan announced, noting that the Armenian Tricolor alone will be flying at the northern gates of Yerevan.
