At a press briefing, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said: “There has been much talk about the meeting between the leaders of Armenia and Russia. The statements that the Russian side proposed completely withdrawing its border guards from Armenia are not true.”
According to Zakharova, the information that the border guards will be withdrawn pursuant to an agreement between Baku and Yerevan is not true either.
“The truth is that during the meeting of the leaders of the two countries, at the request of the Armenian side, the withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from a number of territories bordering Azerbaijan was discussed in connection with the fulfillment of previously set tasks,” Zakharova noted.
