UN calls on Armenia and Azerbaijan to settle all bilateral issues for relations’ full normalization
In response to the inquiry of the Azerbaijani media, the press service of the U.N. said that António Guterres, the organization’s secretary-general, is closely following the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Guterres welcomed the agreement reached on April 19 on border delimitation.
“He called on the parties to continue the delimitation and demarcation of the remaining parts of the border and to settle all existing bilateral issues in order to achieve a full normalization of relations. It is encouraging that Azerbaijan and Armenia continue to work on a peace treaty. We hope that the meeting of foreign ministers in Almaty on May 10–11 will be followed by further constructive cooperation to decide the remaining issues,” the organization said.
