Gevorg Tamamyan: The police receive orders from Pashinyan and simply carry them out, not observing the law

The issue of a peaceful transition of power is on the agenda, doctor Gevorg Tamamyan told ABC Media. Speaking about the sentiments of the protesters, the doctor who has joined the movement noted that there are moments when enthusiasm runs high, but the opposite happens as well.

“The important thing is that we believe that we are doing the right thing and everything will work out. When there is a mighty tree and one starts hitting the tree with an ax, people may think that the tree will never fall, but persistent strikes will eventually cut down the tree,” Tamamyan said.

The doctor also spoke about the behavior of the police.

“I have received two impressions. First, I feel anger when I see the actions of the police. They receive orders from Pashinyan and simply carry them out, not observing the law. For example, yesterday the lawyers quoted from the law, but they were not taken into account.

My second impression is that they feel anger as well, finding themselves as a barrier. The dramatic thing about all this is that throughout his life, Pashinyan was shouting at police officers and police chiefs, saying that the police were separated from the people. Now the relationship between people and the police is more than destroyed,” Tamamyan said.
