Putin and Erdogan meet in Astana
The leaders of Russia and Turkey met today in Astana, Kazakhstan. The meeting took place within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit.
During the meeting, Erdogan said that he is waiting for Putin to visit Turkey “in the shortest possible time.”
“I will definitely come,” Putin said and thanked his Turkish counterpart.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan are in regular contact and exchange opinions on the situation in the world.
“I am very happy to see you, Mr. President. We are in regular contact with you; we regularly exchange opinions about the situation in our countries, the region, and the whole world,” Putin said at the start of the negotiations.
Earlier, Spokesperson for Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the meeting between the leaders of Russia and Turkey will last at least one hour and that they would discuss all issues of mutual interest.
