9-point joint statement adopted based on “3+3” meeting

After the meeting in “3+3” format held yesterday in Tehran,
the sides, i.e. the Armenian, Azerbaijani, Turkish, Iranian and Russian foreign
ministers, issued a 9-point joint statement, which can be found below: 

1. Considering the importance of development of relations
between the countries based on mutual interests and good neighborliness, the
sides underlined the importance of peaceful resolution of conflicts, respect
for each other’s sovereignty, political independence, territorial integrity,
inviolability of internationally recognized borders, non-interference in
domestic affairs, not resorting to threat or use of force and respect for human
rights based on all principles of the U.N. Charter. 

2. Expressing their stance on various international issues,
the sides discussed central regional issues. They highlighted the importance of
platforms such as the regional consultative platform “3+3” in terms of creating
opportunities for constructive dialogue and ensuring mutually beneficial
cooperation between those regional countries, which play a primary role in that
regard. 

3. The sides emphasized the positive impact of 
economic cooperation on the development of mutual trust, welfare of the nations
and regional stability. 

4. The sides underscored the importance of cultural cooperation,
contacts between people and of joint projects in the spheres of education,
tourism, culture and sports. 

5. Bilateral and multilateral talks and cooperation should
be promoted to establish lasting peace and encourage economic
development. 

6. The sides welcomed the processes underway, aimed at the
normalization and development of relations between all regional states.

7. Assessing the meeting outcomes as positive, the sides
reiterated that this platform is open for Georgia as an equal party.

 8. The ministers also exchanged views on the situation
in Gaza. They highlighted the need for the immediate end of targeting innocent
civilians. 

9. The foreign ministers of the Republic of Armenia, the
Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Turkey and the Russian Federation
thanked the foreign minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the good
reception and the successful meeting. Appreciating the importance of regular
meetings in “3+3” format in terms of promoting trust and cooperation in the
region, the sides agreed to hold the next meeting in Turkey. The date for the
meeting will be arranged through diplomatic channels.
