French Ambassador to Armenia Olivier Decottignies made an X
post, quoting French Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu.
“Armenia should be given the opportunity to protect its
civilian population and to ensure the security of its borders. On Monday, we
will formalize Armenia’s acquisition of certain amounts of weapons from French
armament manufacturers,” the ambassador quoted the French Minister of Defense
as saying.
To remind, since yesterday, Armenian Defense Minister Suren
Papikyan has been in France on an official visit.
Earlier, the French side had announced its readiness to sell
defensive weapons to Armenia.
