U.S. President Joe Biden used his speech in the U.N. to call for unity in the ongoing wars in Ukraine, the Middle East and Sudan, Voice of America reports.
Hope, unity and work—this is what U.S. President Joe Biden told world leaders at the end of his speech in the U.N. General Assembly on Tuesday.
The U.S. president urged the world to work together to end the conflicts in Gaza, Ukraine and Sudan and touted his administration’s work to address global health issues and combat climate change.
“Partners, let’s never forget that many other things are more important than staying in power. That is the will of your people,” Biden said.
But Biden’s call for an end to the conflict in the Middle East showed how deep the disagreements among the international community are; this could also be seen in the U.N. General Assembly session.
“Even in a tense situation, a diplomatic solution is possible. This is the only way to establish stable security that will allow the people of both countries to return safely to their homes. We are working tirelessly in that direction,” Biden noted.
