Politico: Biden urged Israel to avoid attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities when retaliating
U.S. President Joe Biden and his top aides have urged Israel to refrain from attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities in a retaliatory strike, which indicates the limitation of U.S. ability to influence Israel, Politico writes.
Two administration officials, who wished to remain anonymous, said that after hundreds of Iranian missiles were fired at Israel, the Biden administration is content to try to limit Israel’s response rather than fully prevent it.
The newspaper’s sources said that the U.S. is in active contact with Israel on the subject of retaliatory actions, which may include a military strike. Attacks on Iranian forces in Yemen and Syria are considered a possible option.
