An explosion took place in a gas station in Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan, RIA Novosti writes, referring to the country’s Prosecutor’s Office.
As noted, eight people were injured in the incident; five of them died, including one child.
“According to early reports, around 5:30 p.m. (Moscow time) on Sept. 27, an explosion occurred at a Makhachkala gas station, followed by a fire,” the Prosecutor’s Office said.
The building of the gas station has collapsed; an area of about 500 square meters is on fire; Two cars and one truck have also been damaged.
A criminal case has been brought for the failure to meet security requirements.
