Hayakve: The elections were far from free, fair and democratic
Hayakve’s observation mission carried out observation
activities throughout the electoral campaign, the voting process and the
counting of votes in all precincts of Yerevan.
The observation mission notes that the elections were far
from free, fair and democratic.
“There were mass abuses of power: material, financial and
information resources were used for pro-authority propaganda.
Throughout the voting process, pressure was exerted on the
members of precinct election commissions; many people were called up to polling
places under pressure; observers’ rights were violated; a blatant campaign was
being conducted in polling places, etc.
In fact, voter turnout in the elections was unprecedentedly
low,” reads the statement.
