
Russian and Syrian presidents hold phone call
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa had a phone conversation, Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs says.
The two leaders had a detailed exchange of views on the situation in Syria. The Russian side reaffirmed its principled stance in support of Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Putin reiterated Russia’s unwavering commitment to assisting Syria in improving its socio-economic conditions, including providing humanitarian aid to its population.
Both sides agreed to maintain communication to develop a broad agenda for strengthening bilateral cooperation. According to a statement from the ministry, the conversation was constructive, practical, and substantive.
