FA-50 fighter jet vanishes from radars in Philippines

An FA-50 fighter jet of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) has vanished from radars during nighttime exercises; a search and rescue operation is underway, Spokesperson for the Philippine Air Force Maria Consuelo Castillo reports.

“Shortly after midnight, the FA-50 fighter jet disappeared during tactical nighttime operations. The aircraft lost contact with the remaining mission elements just minutes before reaching the target area,” Castillo stated.

As noted, each aircraft had two pilots onboard, and the fate of the FA-50 crew remains unknown.
