Russia temporarily bans hard wheat export
The Russian government has temporarily banned the hard wheat
export, the Government press service reports.
“Russia is imposing a temporary ban on the hard wheat
export. The decision is aimed at food security and will contribute to the
stability of prices of hard wheat products in the domestic market,” reads the
government statement.
The ban will be in effect until May 31, 2024.
Hard wheat export is allowed to the EAEU countries, namely
Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, under the quotas set by the
Government, if the Russian Ministry of Agriculture issues a permit.
Exceptions are also made for international humanitarian aid,
as well as exports to Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
