Thirty-three years ago, on this very day, the Supreme
Council of the Armenian SSR launched the process of establishment of Armenian
statehood. Today, the authorities are trying to question the meaning and
significance of the Declaration, which is unacceptable to experts.
PhD in History, Professor Khachatur Stepanyan highlights the
role that the RA Declaration of Independence has played in Armenian history and
in the fate of the Armenian nation. According to him, we should not only admire
that document, but also hold fast to it.
