Next victim of “New Armenia” – Ara Mkhitaryan

Lieutenant Colonel Ara Mkhitaryan passed away yesterday
evening. He was brutally beaten about four years ago. Being in a coma for four
years, he never recovered from the injury. The injury resulted from a number of
blows to the head.

On Sep. 18, 2019, Lieutenant Colonel Ara Mkhitaryan was
brutally beaten outside an apartment building on Arsenyan Street in the town of
Yeghegnadzor. Assistant to the Governor of the Vayots Dzor Province Harutyun
Grigoryan was among those who left the resident of the Shirak Province at
death’s door. 

By court decision, he was sentenced to five years in prison
on the charge of inflicting willful and severe damage to health. It is
important to mention that this Article provides for imprisonment for 5–10
years. The court imposed the lightest penalty, in fact.
