Samvel Karapetyan to renounce all citizenships except Armenian

Samvel Karapetyan has announced that he has begun the process of renouncing all of his citizenships except Armenian, according to TASS.

“Since I am running for the elections and am confident of my victory, I have decided to start the process of giving up these passports,” he said ahead of a court hearing.

Holding any citizenship other than Armenian is an obstacle to running for the parliamentary elections scheduled for June 7.
