Serzh Sargsyan: Who doubts that Armen Ashotyan is a political prisoner?
Serzh Sargsyan referred to Armen Ashotyan’s arrest during his meeting with journalists outside the court building on July 7. As he stated, they wanted to isolate Ashotyan out of fear.
“They were afraid of his statements on the Artsakh issue, his relations with our international partners and the internal political developments,” Serzh Sargsyan said.
He did not agree that he had not expressed his attitude towards Ashotyan’s arrest.
“We have expressed our shared attitude towards this matter. Who doubts that Armen Ashotyan is a political prisoner? Adjourning the case, then reopening it and not interrogating him during all that period. What do you think all this means?” Serzh Sargsyan said.
