Russia and Ukraine agree on local ceasefire at Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant through IAEA mediation
Following a local ceasefire brokered by the IAEA, repair work has begun near Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, Reuters reports.
IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi expressed his gratitude to Russia and Ukraine for agreeing to the temporary ceasefire, noting that the repairs will help strengthen nuclear safety in the area.
The restoration work is expected to last several days and is being carried out as part of measures aimed at preventing a nuclear accident.
