Hamas has not agreed to the one-week ceasefire proposed by
Israel. The Wall Street Journal reports, citing Egyptian officials.
Israel offered to release 40 people, including the remaining
women, children and elderly men who needed medical assistance.
In return, Tel Aviv was ready to pause its ground and air
operations for a week, allowing further humanitarian aid to enter the Gaza
Strip.
