Brazil calls on US to end Cuba’s economic blockade
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has urged his American counterpart Donald Trump to lift the economic blockade on Cuba, according to comments he made in an interview with The Washington Post.
According to the newspaper, Lula da Silva has been seeking to convince the Washington administration that Cuba should be given an opportunity.
“I know that if the United States sits down at the negotiating table, rather than a table where it imposes opinions, then Cuba will participate,” the Brazilian president said, noting that Cuba is willing to engage in dialogue with Washington.
