Gabriel Attal takes up French prime minister’s post

Gabriel Attal, 34 years old, has been appointed prime minister of France. French President Emmanuel Macron signed the relevant decree. RIA Novosti wrote this, noting that Attal has been the youngest prime minister in the history of France.

Attal used to hold the post of the minister of National Education. He is one of Macron’s closest supporters and, as many experts state, Macron perceives him as his potential successor.

To remind, Former Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne resigned on Monday, Jan. 8. She was appointed to office in May 2022. Last year, she introduced the pension system reform, which, in fact, sparked strong protests.
