Aliyev says ‘Zangezur Corridor’ will become one of Middle Corridor’s key segments

Azerbaijan is pursuing a “decisive policy aimed at establishing and maintaining long-term peace and stability in the region,” according to a statement in a speech by Ilham Aliyev addressed to participants of the international conference titled “Regional Contribution to Global Security: Building Peace in the South Caucasus.”

“The joint declaration signed last year in Washington between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the signing of a peace agreement, completely changed the situation in the South Caucasus,” the message said.

“The ‘Zangezur Corridor’ being implemented in this context will connect the main part of Azerbaijan with its Nakhijevan region and will also become one of the key segments of the Middle Corridor.”
