
Turkey sets unwanted record at World Championship
Turkey’s national team has made an ineffective start at the World Championship, according to Opta.
Turkish players have made a total of 62 shots in two matches but have still failed to find the back of the net.
In the second round, Turkey suffered a 0–1 defeat to Paraguay. Matías Galarza opened the scoring in the second minute of the match. Paraguay midfielder Miguel Almirón was sent off in the 45th minute.
In Group D, the United States is leading the standings with six points. Australia and Paraguay have three points each, while Turkey remains without a point.
