Trump vows to hit Iran ‘very hard’

US President Donald Trump has said Washington will deliver a “very hard” strike against Iran in response to an attempted attack on American military bases.

Trump said Iran had attempted to strike US military bases overnight with five missiles, but all of them were intercepted.

He said it was now the United States’ turn and claimed that Iran understands a retaliatory response is coming.

“We’re going to hit them very hard because now it’s our turn. They know it’s going to happen, and they’re asking us not to do it,” the US president said.
