Iran was prepared to strike three targets in Ukraine, but decided against escalating the conflict after Kyiv said a strike on an Iranian commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea was a mistake, Mohsen Rezaei, a military adviser to Iran’s supreme leader, has said.

“We are not seeking to provoke a war, but Iran’s armed forces are fully prepared and will defend Iran to the last drop of blood,” Rezaei said.
