
Azerbaijan adds Iran to list of countries posing military risks to diplomats
Iran has been added to Azerbaijan’s list of countries where its diplomatic missions and consulates operate under conditions of war and armed conflict.
The relevant decree was signed by Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov.
The document amends the “Rules on Providing Guarantees and Compensation to Diplomatic Service Employees.”
Under the decision, the Islamic Republic of Iran has been added to the list of countries where Azerbaijani diplomatic missions and consulates operate under conditions of war and armed conflict.
Iran is the eighth country on the list. The decree is effective from March 1 through Dec. 31, 2026.
