Trump posted an image calling the Canadian Prime Minister “Governor”

US President Donald Trump posted an image playing hockey with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and calling him “governor.”

In the image, published on Truth Social, Carney is sitting on the ice, while Trump says, “Get up, Governor,” implying that the Canadian prime minister is the head of an American state.

Previously, the American president has repeatedly stated that Canada should become the 51st state of the United States. Moreover, he expressed the opinion that many Canadians favor their country joining the United States in that capacity. Carney, like the previous prime minister, Justin Trudeau, has stated that Canada will never, in any form, join the United States.
