Zatulin: As long as Pashinyan is in Power, there will be no easing of relations between Armenia and Russia
Konstantin Zatulin, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, assessed the prospects for easing trade and economic relations between Armenia and Russia in an interview with НСН. According to him, as long as Nikol Pashinyan remains in power, this will not happen.
The Russian lawmaker emphasized that all deteriorations in bilateral relations are linked to Yerevan’s policy course of attempting to forge alliances with Moscow’s adversaries.
“Despite periodic contacts, there will be no easing of tensions as long as Pashinyan is in power,” Zatulin stated.
He added that Russia will not yield to blackmail from Armenia. The MP also expressed the view that Pashinyan will not hold a referendum on joining the European Union because he fears losing it.
