Bayramov and Fidan discuss South Caucasus and Middle East

Azerbaijan and Turkey discussed the advancement of the peace process between Yerevan and Baku, and also reaffirmed their shared position on the necessity of a political and diplomatic settlement of conflicts, including in the Middle East.

This was stated in a release by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan following an expanded meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries, Jeyhun Bayramov and Hakan Fidan, in Baku.

The ministers reviewed the progress achieved over the past year in the normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as practical steps aimed at establishing lasting peace in the South Caucasus and developing regional cooperation.

The parties also exchanged views on developments in the Middle East and other regions, new geopolitical realities, and ongoing conflicts.

“The ministers reaffirmed their shared conviction that conflicts and military confrontations must be resolved through political and diplomatic means,” the statement reads.
