Since the outbreak of the war in the Middle East, EU has spent an additional 90 billion euros on fossil fuel imports

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, stated that since the outbreak of the war in the Middle East, the community bloc has spent an additional 90 billion euros on fossil fuel imports.

“We have spent 90 billion euros more since the war began without adding a single molecule of energy,” lamented Von der Leyen.

The President of the European Commission called on EU countries to redouble their efforts to develop affordable clean energy production within the European Union. In particular, she cited renewable energy sources, nuclear power, biomethane, and other technologies.
