Serbia and Israel to jointly produce UAVs

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has announced the launch of a joint venture with Israel to assemble military drones using Israeli technology.

Earlier, Vučić stated that Serbia and Israel would establish a 50-50 joint venture to produce UAVs on Serbian soil. Subsequently, as reported by РИА Новости, he announced the creation of dedicated drone and unmanned platform units within the Serbian army.

“This morning, I was especially proud of Serbia and its achievements. I inaugurated a factory for assembling state-of-the-art Israeli-made drones; it will employ around one hundred workers and produce cutting-edge equipment for both the Serbian army and the armed forces of other countries,” Vučić wrote on Instagram.

He also posted a video showing him inspecting the UAVs and emphasized that plans in this area are “ambitious.”

“I am confident that, together with our Israeli partners, we will open at least three more factories in Serbia. I did not invite journalists to the inspection due to the classified nature of the production process,” the Serbian president noted.
