Kobakhidze: Georgia welcomes progress in Armenia- Azerbaijan peace process

The South Caucasus is undergoing a period of significant changes, with increasing attention being paid to its economic and strategic potential, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said during his speech at the Multilateral Partnership Summit held as part of the 81st session of the United Nations.

“We welcome the progress achieved in the peace process between our neighbors and believe that deepening regional cooperation can create new opportunities in areas such as trade, transport and logistics, and economic development,” the Prime Minister added.

The head of government emphasized that Georgia remains committed to the principles essential for achieving lasting peace and prosperity.

Later, Kobakhidze announced that he met with Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan in New York. Georgia and Turkey reaffirmed their intention to continue developing bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
