Head of Russia’s Ministry of Agriculture wishes Armenia success in entering European markets

The prospects for Armenian goods entering European markets depend primarily on their competitiveness and compliance with quality requirements, Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut told RIA Novosti.

According to her, it is the ability of Armenian producers to compete in foreign markets and the quality of their products that will determine the possibility of expanding into Europe. She also wished Armenia success in this endeavor.

Starting June 12, ‘’Rosselkhoznadzor’’ imposed restrictions on the import of all quarantine-regulated products from Armenia into Russia, and also banned their transit through Russian territory to EAEU member states. The head of the agency, Sergey Dankvert, had previously explained these measures by the insufficient effectiveness of quality control over Armenian agricultural products by producers, emphasizing that the restrictions are not politically motivated.
