Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister calls on Iran to contribute to normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan

During a meeting in Tehran with Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev dismissed allegations that Azerbaijani territory was being used against Iran.

Mustafayev described Iran as a friendly and fraternal country to Azerbaijan.

He also called on the Islamic Republic to contribute to the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

For his part, commenting on the situation in the Middle East, Rezaei stated that an attack by the US and Israel on Iran violates international law. He emphasized that “Iran put up a worthy resistance in this war.”

Rezaei added that “Trump is stuck in a quagmire where he can neither negotiate nor wage war.”

According to him, Iran is ready to facilitate the peace process in the South Caucasus.
