
US diplomat: Expanding connectivity in the South Caucasus is a priority for the United States
The agreements reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan have created the best opportunity in decades to achieve lasting peace, said Amy Carlon, Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan.
Carlon recalled that in August 2025, US President Donald Trump hosted Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the White House.
“At that meeting, the sides initialed an agreement that offers the best opportunity in decades for lasting peace,” Carlon said.
The diplomat added that the TRIPP – “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” concept was also put forward during the meeting.
Carlon also emphasized that expanding regional connectivity is among the priority areas for the United States.
