Georgian Foreign Minister highlights the role of the "Middle Corridor" in regional cooperation and economic ties

Events following the collapse of the Soviet Union hindered the formation of the South Caucasus as a connecting hub. Despite this, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey have successfully implemented a number of energy and transport projects. This was stated by Maka Bochorishvili, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, while speaking at the "Raisina Middle East" conference in Abu Dhabi.

According to her, joint projects today serve as a solid foundation for strengthening regional ties and further developing the Middle Corridor.

The Minister noted that to fully unlock the region's potential, it is necessary to deepen cooperation, build trust-based partnerships, and expand opportunities for further interaction.

"Our goal is to build a partnership based on trust and reliability, not only during times of crisis, but also in periods of stability," the Foreign Minister added.

Maka Bochorishvili specifically emphasized the importance of the Middle Corridor in terms of developing regional cooperation and economic ties.

"However, in itself, it is not a new concept. It reflects a historical reality that has always existed. The new geopolitical environment gives this idea additional significance. In this context, Georgia plays an important role," the Foreign Minister added.
