Lavrov and Araghchi discuss the situation in the Middle East

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, held talks in Tehran.

The two sides discussed the situation in the Middle East and globally, as well as ways to strengthen relations between Russia and Iran.

Lavrov stated that Russia is prepared to assist in finding mutually acceptable solutions to resolve the crisis in the Middle East.

Araghchi noted that economic cooperation is progressing at a good pace and that there are no significant issues between the two countries.

Sergey Lavrov arrived in Tehran from Bahrain, where he had participated in the 9th round of the Russia-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) strategic dialogue.

Following his talks with Araghchi, the Russian Foreign Minister is set to be received by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
