Russia to help Azerbaijan repair military equipment
Russia will assist Azerbaijan in establishing the repair and modernization of army armored vehicles, as stated by Dmitry Shugayev, Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC), according to Lenta.ru.
"An entire program has been signed, which entails the modernization and construction of facilities for the repair of armored vehicles," Shugayev said, referring to the equipment currently in service with the Azerbaijani army.
According to the head of the FSMTC, Russia no longer only offers finished products to its partners, but also participates in military-technological cooperation.
In early October, Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Vasily Osmakov and Azerbaijani Minister of Defense Zakir Hasanov discussed bilateral military cooperation. Earlier reports indicated Baku's plans to transition to NATO standards.
