US to bring Russia into talks on European security

The United States intends to involve Russia in talks on shaping a new European security architecture as part of efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and special envoy Jared Kushner said following consultations in Brussels.

‘’We will continue consultations through the Shell Bay format with Ukraine, NATO, the EU, and our European partners, expanding engagement to ensure that all relevant perspectives and ideas are considered. We will also engage Russia as part of the peace negotiations,’’ he writes on X.

Kushner had earlier stated that the US goal in the negotiations on resolving the Ukraine crisis was to establish a comprehensive security architecture that would permanently eliminate the risk of the conflict breaking out again.
