Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Secretary: Elections will not be held in Ukraine until martial law is lifted

Elections will not be held in Ukraine, until martial law is lifted. Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said this.

“Elections can take place after martial law is lifted. Thus, we need to win, and we will definitely do that,” he said.

To remind, after the Russian invasion, martial law was declared in the country for a period of 30 days. After that, the term has repeatedly been extended.

The eighth presidential election in Ukraine was due this spring. In November, all political forces of the Verkhovna Rada agreed that elections will be held only after martial law is lifted in the country.
