A protest in support of Tavush is being staged outside the Government building. Diaspora Armenian Karen Mkrtichyan, who was involved in the famous incident with Alen Simonyan, is also there.
Mkrtichyan told ABC media that he is not upset with his homeland; he is just ashamed that these authorities remain in office.
“I think that everyone knows exactly what is going on and that these authorities are going ahead with the plans of foreigners. They did not come to power with a mandate to cede lands, to cede Artsakh; they came with a different agenda, but they deceived people and are trying to force us to do something that 90% of the people do not want to do,” he said.
According to Karen Mkrtichyan, the authorities should have voluntarily resigned, but as they do not resign and continue to advance foreign interests, it is time for the Armenian people to take a stand.
