Death toll from pilgrimage to Mecca exceeds 1,000

Over 1000 pilgrims have died during a pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Agence France-Presse reported this, according to its own calculations.

“This year, the number of people who died during Hajj exceeded 1,000,” the news agency said.

As noted, more than half of the victims were unregistered pilgrims.
