Karen Bekaryan: The people of Artsakh came to Armenia; Where shall we go? The creeping concession is taking place every day

I am grateful that you are here today showing the world that the Armenian people and citizens of the Republic of Armenia are not helpless rags lying on the street, that they have a homeland and are ready to stand up for that homeland, political scientist Karen Bekaryan said during the Holy Struggle rally in Republic Square.

“Dear nation, now busy drinking coffee, my dears, what else should happen to make your brain, mind, and heart realize the disaster?”, the political scientist said to those who had not joined the rally.

“Well, let’s say you believed them in 2018, let’s say in 2020 you thought we had authorities, and you united. What else should happen for you to understand what they have done? In 2018, there were people dancing. I am not accusing you now; you were ready to fight for the reform of the country, but can you remain silent for the existence of the country?” Bekaryan said.

The political scientist recalled the issue of the Constitution, when the authorities announced that it would not change the Constitution at Azerbaijan’s request, but recently the Supreme Court considered the border delimitation activities legal, while the authorities announced that they are ready to change the Constitution if it has a clause contradicting the peace treaty.

“Tomorrow they will say that Azerbaijan does not like the words of the Armenian anthem, and that the Artsakh anthem should no longer exist. What else should you hear to understand that everything is over? People from Artsakh came to Armenia. Where shall we go? Will there be enough planes for all of us? Imagine the level of indifference we have reached, that if before they used to beat their chests saying that they would not change the Constitution at the request of Azerbaijan, recently they said that if they sign a peace treaty and the Constitutional Court sees a problem in it, they will make amendments to the Constitution through a referendum. The creeping concession is taking place every day, every second. Every concession and defeat will knock on your door. How will you look your children in the eyes? What will you tell the children lying in Yerablur, who thought they were saving the Homeland, but were actually betrayed?” Bekaryan noted.

To remind, at the moment the Holy Struggle rally is taking place in Republic Square.
