Azerbaijan criticizes Dutch calls regarding Artsakh’s former leadership release
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has condemned the resolutions of the Parliament of the Netherlands and the statements of Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp, where there is a call for the release of the representatives of the former leadership of Artsakh.
Aykhan Hajizada, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, described them as biased. He also stated that the Dutch authorities are misrepresenting Baku’s goals regarding the attack on Artsakh in 2023.
Hajizada accused Amsterdam of applying double standards and refuted the accusations against Baku about destroying Armenian cultural heritage.
“We are calling on the Dutch side to abandon its one-sided stance, which contradicts peace in the region and creates tension in the relations between Azerbaijan and the Netherlands,” the official noted.
