State Department sums up Blinken-Mirzoyan meeting results

Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State Matthew Miller issued a statement on the meeting between U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.

Miller noted that Blinken and Mirzoyan signed the U.S.-Armenia Strategic Partnership Commission charter, marking the latest milestone in the developing U.S.-Armenia relationship. The charter establishes new avenues for bilateral cooperation, including on economic cooperation; security and defense; strengthening democracy, justice, and inclusion; and increasing people-to-people exchanges.

Blinken and Mirzoyan also announced the United States and Armenia will begin negotiations on an agreement to support Armenia’s nuclear energy sector and that Armenia intends to join the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS.
