Peskov said that Kyiv’s killing of its citizens, who were supposed to be at home within 24 hours, was a “hideous act”.
In response to Zelenskyy’s statement that Ukraine would demand an international investigation into the Il-76 crash, Peskov said, “If he meant the investigation into the crimes that Kyiv has committed, then this is definitely necessary.”
Peskov also referred to the continuation of the POW exchange process, noting that he could not say anything about the prospects yet.
To remind, a Russian military Il-76 plane crashed in Belgorod Oblast on Jan. 24. The plane was carrying 65 Ukrainian POWs for exchange purposes. The POWs, the crew members and the accompanying soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces were killed in the crash.
