Today, officers of the Special Forces of the Police of Armenia (the Red Berets) resorted to force against media representatives covering the acts of peaceful disobedience.
24news’s journalist Mary Manukyan and ABCmedia’s cameraman Mher Davtyan suffered from the actions of the Red Berets.
First, one of the police officers pushed ABC media’s cameraman, then, seeing that the latter fell on the stairs, he left without looking back.
Later, the Red Berets used force against 24 News’s journalist. As a result, the journalist passed out. She has been hospitalized.
ABC media and 24 News condemn the unacceptable actions of the police and acts obstructing the course of journalists’ work and demand that all relevant agencies investigate the incident.
