We can see the dead silence of the West amid mass arrests in Armenia: Zakharova on protests in Armenia
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova commented on the protests taking place in Armenia and Georgia.
“We have always stated that the domestic affairs of countries are the business of sovereign states. In this case, the Western reaction is astonishing in terms of its stability. Here again, we can witness double standards. With regard to Armenia, we can see the dead silence of the West amid mass arrests, where brute force is also used. The West seems to have been disconnected from this agenda,” Zakharova said.
She noted that the Western media is actively covering the demonstrations in Georgia. As for the multi-thousand protests in Armenia, the Western media pretends that nothing is going on there or refers to them as “not expressing the will of the Armenian people and being controlled from outside”.
