We have many questions for the Russian side, but we also have legal and contractual regulations and relationships: Archbishop Bagrat to BBC

Today, relations with Azerbaijan do not exist; there are neither negotiations nor relationships, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan said in response to the question of BBC’s correspondent.

“We are in favor of real negotiations, and they should take place with real people, not being mere imitation. We need to bring relations to the logic of negotiations; they should not be based on what is going on under duress and threat of force. We are talking about real peace, not the ongoing war,” Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan said.

In response to the question as to what he thinks about the withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from Armenia’s borders and Zvartnots Airport, Archbishop Bagrat said: “The situation about Armenian-Russian relations is not the best, if not the worst. We have many questions for the Russian side, but we also have legal and contractual regulations and relationships. All these issues should be addressed on the basis of mutual understanding and mutual trust. We should also accept that relations are not damaged unilaterally; this happens bilaterally; it should be based on mutual understanding. No matter Russia is concerned or  other partners, this is not an issue on its own, not just one episode; our stance refers to an entire package.”
